I have LOTS of 8mm and super8 movies that I want to put on vcd or dvd. Can anyone point me to a book or manual that can explain the "telecine" process?
Also can anyone point me to "telecine" machines that would handle 8mm and super8 film?

The Film Group in Hartford, CT, also offers an inexpensive service for transferring old S8 film onto either video or miniDV. Ask for George Ordell.
Their rates are $35/quarter hour, which is about half what you'll spend anywhere else for this quality of transfer...
There's also a telecine machine -- the Goko TC-20 -- now almost impossible to find, that makes the conversion & was designed for prosumer use. Try eBay, but my experience is that they rarely appear.
